Brief Profile: This Centre for Diaspora Studies has been set up as part of the initiative by the Indian University Grants Commission (UGC) to promote innovative academic and research centres in local universities. It is also a part of the Tamil Nadu government's effort to internationalise education offered at the various universities in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. The Centre is presently identifying resource persons to become part of its adjunct faculty, to grow and strengthen its teaching and research activities.
