Brief Profile:   AKM Ahsan Ullah is Associate Director at the Center for Migration and Refugee Studies, and Assistant Professor of Global Affairs and Public Policy at The American University in Cairo. He has two masters degrees and a Ph.D. in migration. He has contributed extensively to national and international refereed journals, including amongst others, Development in Practice; International Migration, Asian Profile; Asian and Pacific Migration Journal, Journal of Immigrant & Refugee Studies; Development Review; and the Journal of Social Economics. He has also contributed to a number of edited collections, and published twelve books in the fields of migration, refugee, and development studies. His latest publication, a book titled, Rationalizing the Migration Decision: Labour Migrants in East and South East Asia, has recently appeared from Ashgate. In addition to his academic work, Dr. Ullah has worked for national and international development and research organization for over eighteen years. He
