Amar Burton

Brief Profile:   Amar has most recently obtained a diploma LLM (Merits) in Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law after completing eleven modules and written assignments, and is happy to peer-review articles pertaining to these fields, and beyond. For his undergraduate studies he obtained a B.Sc. (Hons) in Psychology. He has taught language, and applied behavioural analysis, to autistic children, as worked in other fields. His Psychology degree prepared him for the statistical analysis of data, and both his degrees have taught him to rigorously examine the reliability of sources and assess their contents. He has carried out much work on a dissertation pertaining to reforms of the International Criminal Court (ICC), the United Nations particularly its Security Council (UNSC), and their relationship, as well as all other barriers to accountability, such as Status of Forces Agreements (SOFA) to name but one issue. His original motivations for embarking upon a Human Rights degree was the plight of migrants at the borders. Zohra Hassani

Brief Profile:   Zohra Hassani is an Afghan-born French passionate about migration, displacement and refugee issues. She holds a master’s degree in Public policy from Sciences Po and a master’s degree in Migration and Diaspora studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). For her master’s dissertation, she conducted interviews with seven Afghan women from Hazara ethnicity living in London and used the notions of aspiration and hope to explore their attitudes towards the 'time ahead’. Her work shows that their attitudes towards the future are indicative of their multiple identities - as Afghan women, from the Hazara ethnic minority and as immigrants - but also of the transnational relational setting of their life. She is currently working on a personal project about stories of Afghan migration to Europe which aims to account for the plurality of life experiences and narratives of Afghan migrants. Her research interests include European law and policy on migration and Afghan migration

Charles Mbatsogo

Srinita Bhattacharjee
