The Business Case for Migration

FICCI has organized “Second Annual Conference on Mobility and the Business Case for Migration” which was held on 5th December, 2016 at Federation House, New Delhi. The conference brought together Industry leaders, UN organisations, Government officials, academics and grassroot workers. The objective of this conference was to discuss issues and challenges of migration with various stakeholders such as government, industry and international organizations (IOM, ILO, KNOMAD) as well as academics. Dr. A. Didar Singh, SG, FICCI has delivered the inaugural address where he talked about the importance of growth of business is impossible without the mobility of talent, skills and entrepreneurship. Mr. Karl Cox, Vice President, Oracle Corporation has delivered the inaugural lecture in which he emphasized on the clear and transparent immigration policy in the current era of globalization.
The objective of the conference was to recommend suggestions for protective and safe migration, high investment and productivity and growing trade and services across borders. The conference was to deliberate inventive ways to promote brain circulation, support transnational ethical recruitment practices, facilitate Diaspora engagement for development as well as to promote migration in the Sustainable Development agenda 2030.
