Institute:   Master’s in Public policy from Sciences Po and Master’s in Migration and Diaspora studies, School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS).

Brief Profile:   Zohra Hassani is an Afghan-born French passionate about migration, displacement and refugee issues. She holds a master’s degree in Public policy from Sciences Po and a master’s degree in Migration and Diaspora studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). For her master’s dissertation, she conducted interviews with seven Afghan women from Hazara ethnicity living in London and used the notions of aspiration and hope to explore their attitudes towards the 'time ahead’. Her work shows that their attitudes towards the future are indicative of their multiple identities - as Afghan women, from the Hazara ethnic minority and as immigrants - but also of the transnational relational setting of their life. She is currently working on a personal project about stories of Afghan migration to Europe which aims to account for the plurality of life experiences and narratives of Afghan migrants. Her research interests include European law and policy on migration and Afghan migration
