Brief Profile: Naziya Naweed is a doctoral research scholar at the Centre for West Asian Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. Her research focuses on Indian Diaspora as an emerging factor in India’s foreign policy towards the largest regional and trading bloc, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Her writing takes into account an interdisciplinary perspective to understand the Indian Diaspora linkages with India’s foreign policy, through the prism of Remittance, Political Economy of Soft Power and Diplomacy. She has completed her graduation in Political Science from the Kamla Nehru College, University of Delhi, masters in Political Science from Jamia Millia Islamia, and Mphil in West Asian Studies from the same university. Naziya has also presented papers in International Conferences, Seminar in India and has participated in various courses organised by Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Global Initiative of Academic Networks (GIAN) and ICSSR sponsored workshop.
