Brief Profile: Gurmeet Kaur is a teaching faculty of Gender Studies at
Institute of Social Science Education and Research Panjab University and PhD candidate in the Department Cum Center for Women's Studies & Development at Panjab University. Her specialization and field of study for the degree of PhD includes socio economic status of refugee women in India, refugee integration, tibetan women in exile, Buddhist studies etc. She has participated in a Capacity Building Programme on Gender Sensitivity. She has been awarded by Merit certificate twice by Panjab University for her academic excellence. She has also worked with organizations like IBM, SAGE sustainability, WECAN International, Lha Charitable trust, Ad HOC Global. In August 2019, she was awarded with Swami Vivekananda Single Girl Child Scholarship to continue her degree of Ph.D. with ease and in the same month, she organized a session on Gender and Economics in Young Scholar Initiative Asia Convening – Institute on New Economic Thinking in Hanoi, Vietnam.
